Preparation
Surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry, and free from wax, grease, and other contaminants. Any defects should be made good before painting to ensure a smooth, even finish and proper adhesion of the paint.
- Remove dirt, grease, wax, and any loose or flaking material.
- Fill holes and cracks with Rustin’s Wood Filler, allow to dry, then sand smooth.
- On previously painted surfaces, clean thoroughly and lightly sand to provide a key.
- Remove all sanding dust before application.
Application
Stir the paint thoroughly before use to ensure an even colour and consistency. Apply in suitable conditions to achieve the best finish and performance, allowing adequate drying time between coats.
- Stir well before use.
- Apply liberally and evenly using a synthetic fibre brush or roller.
- Apply 1-2 coats as required.
- Touch dry within 30 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity.
- Allow a minimum of 2 hours between coats, depending on temperature and humidity.
- Apply ideally between 15-25°C; do not use below 10°C or in conditions of high humidity.
- Coverage is approximately 12-14 square metres per litre per coat, depending on surface absorbency.
- For maintenance, clean painted surfaces with a mild detergent solution.
