Preparation

• Furniture Oil is suitable for oiled and open-pored wood, it is not suitable for varnished or lacquered surfaces, as the oil cannot penetrate sealed pores.
• Always test on a concealed area first, untreated or very dry wood may darken on contact with the oil, so a patch test ensures you are happy with the result before treating the full surface.
• Ensure the surface is clean and free from dust, grease or old polish before applying.

Application

• Apply Furniture Oil evenly to the wood surface using a clean, lint-free cloth, working with the grain.
• Allow the oil to absorb into the wood fully before assessing, repeat the process several times if necessary until the desired level of saturation and nourishment is achieved.
• Once satisfied, remove any residual oil from the surface with a Renuwell Furniture Polishing Cloth or a clean lint-free cloth, this step is important; excess oil left on the surface will harden and become sticky.
• Allow the wood to dry, the surface will be dust-dry after approximately 24 hours.

Important safety note: do not crumple or bunch used cloths after application, oil-soaked cloths can spontaneously combust if left scrunched up. Lay flat or hang to dry completely before disposing of safely.
