Overview

The easy way to give a smooth finish to uneven or slightly rough plaster, simply brush on and smooth off. Polycell has formulated a ready-mixed finishing skim that will skim up to 2mm and is specially designed to adhere strongly to plaster. Ideal for use on interior plaster, plasterboard, and masonry.

Preparation

Ensure the surface to be filled is free of loose material and dirt. Paint any nails and screw heads with a suitable metal primer.

Application

Always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the packaging. Test on a small area of the surface to ensure compatibility.

• Moisten very porous surfaces such as old or bare plaster.
• Stir to a creamy consistency.
• Spread on with a paintbrush using random strokes.
• Smooth over with the supplied tool moving in an upward curve, and maintain an even pressure.
• Allow to dry for 2-3 hours until the surface is firm but before it is dry. Use the spreader to achieve a flat, smooth finish, re-wetting the surface if necessary.
• After a further 3-4 hours re-wet the surface and rub gently with a damp cloth, using the spreader to remove any irregularities for a smooth finish.
• Allow to dry for 24 hours before painting.
