Overview

Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Satin is a water-based, satin finish paint delivering a high opacity finish, ideal for both wood and metal surfaces. The low odour, water-based formula offers a quick drying, easy to apply finish that can be used on both indoor and outdoor projects. This satin finish paint is ideal to use on trims such as doors, skirting boards and window frames.

Tinted Colour Information

Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Jonhstone's Trade tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order.

Preparation

Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dirt and grease.

Remove any loose or flaking material
Rub down previously gloss painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly before applying a pre-coat of Joncryl Water Based Primer Undercoat
Treat knots with Johnstone's Trade Woodworks Knotting Solution and prime exposed wood and metal surfaces with an appropriate Johnstone's Trade primer.

Application

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results

Stir thoroughly before use to ensure the paint is completely mixed.
Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Satin paint can be applied by brush or roller.
Ensure good ventilation during application and drying.
Apply liberally and evenly for a smooth finish. Two coats are recommended under most conditions.
If using more than one can of the same colour, intermix prior to use to ensure colour consistency.
Do not apply in temperatures below 10°C or in damp conditions.
Additional coats may be required with certain colours, or attempting a wide colour change.
