Geocel High Temperature Silicone 300ml Cartridge - Black
Overview
Geocel High Temperature Silicone is a professional-grade, one-part acetoxy silicone sealant designed for sealing and bonding applications exposed to continuous high temperatures. Ideal for use around flues, stoves, range cookers, ovens and heating appliances, it provides a durable, flexible seal that withstands temperatures of up to 250°C continuously and 300°C intermittently.
Its non-slump, solvent-free formulation is easy to apply to vertical and overhead joints, while curing to form a strong, flexible seal that resists cracking caused by thermal expansion and contraction. Suitable for a wide range of high-temperature sealing applications, Geocel High Temperature Silicone delivers reliable long-term performance in both domestic and commercial environments.

Preparation
For optimum adhesion:
- Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from frost.
- Remove all dust, grease, oil, dirt, old sealants and loose material.
- Degrease surfaces using a suitable solvent and a clean, lint-free cloth where necessary.
- Allow all surfaces to dry completely before application.
- Ensure adequate ventilation when using cleaning solvents and follow all manufacturer safety guidance.
Application
- Cut the cartridge nozzle to suit the width of the joint.
- Insert the cartridge into a standard sealant gun.
- Apply a continuous bead, ensuring the sealant makes full contact with both sides of the joint.
- Tool the sealant within 5 minutes of application to create a smooth, professional finish.
- Allow the sealant to cure fully before exposing it to high operating temperatures.
Important Limitations
- Suitable for joints exposed to high temperatures up to 250°C continuously and 300°C for short periods.
- Do not use for structural bonding applications.
- Not suitable for continuously submerged joints or underwater applications.
- Do not apply to surfaces that bleed oils, plasticisers or solvents, as these may affect adhesion.
- Not recommended for use on concrete, cement, mortar, or metals that react with acetic acid during curing, including zinc, lead, brass and copper alloys.
- Always check compatibility with the substrate before use.
- Apply only when ambient temperatures are between 5°C and 40°C.
Aftercare & Storage
Aftercare
- Avoid disturbing the sealant until it has fully cured.
- Allow adequate curing time before exposing the joint to high temperatures.
- Inspect seals periodically where subjected to repeated heating and cooling cycles.
- Remove cured sealant mechanically or with a suitable silicone remover if replacement is required.
Storage
- Store in the original unopened cartridge.
- Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Protect from frost and excessive heat.
- Shelf life is 27 months when stored correctly at room temperature.
- Reseal opened cartridges and use as soon as possible for best results.
