Preparation

To get the best results, ensure the surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, and dry (new surfaces particularly must be fully dry).

• Remove all loose and defective paint to create a sound surface
• Where necessary wash the surface to remove dirt, grease, and powdery or dusty residue, rinse with clean water and allow to dry
• Seal any powdery surfaces with an appropriate plaster sealer
• Any holes, cracks, or surface defects should be filled with an appropriate filler
• Seal new or bare surfaces with a thinned first coat, if using Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt add 10% water
• Where necessary, rub down and then wipe off with a damp, lint-free cloth to avoid dust
