Preparation
Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from any dust, algae, fungi or moss.
- If the wooden panels have been previously stained, painted or varnished, we recommend to strip them back to the bare wood using sandpaper or a suitable wood stripper
- If your shed is affected by algae, fungi or moss brush down with a stiff brush and clean with a garden cleaner
Application
Before applying stir the product thoroughly and test a small area to ensure colour and adhesion. Colours can vary dependant on surface to be treated.
- Apply 2-3 coats
- Brush on evenly along the grain
- Allow 2-4 hours between coats under normal weather conditions
- Apply only in dry conditions, above 5°C and when bad weather is not forecast
- If a deeper colour is required, more coats can be applied
- Product performance will be reduced if applied to grey and weathered smooth wood
- Please note that the colour in the tub may be different to the final shade when dry
- If using more than one tin it’s advisable to mix together in a large container or finish in a corner before starting a new can to ensure consistency in colour
Note: Always follow the manufacturer instructions found on the tin.
Aftercare & Storage
To maintain your shed or fence reapply 1 coat each year to prolong the life of the wood. Regular cleaning with a dampened cloth can also prolong the life of your treated wood.
Store any remaining paint in dry conditions and protect from frost and sunlight.
