Preparation
Unpainted Metalwork (Including Galvanised)
Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Wash with hot water and detergent, changing the water frequently. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. Treat galvanised surfaces with Crown Trade Protective Coatings T-Wash until uniformly blackened.
Non-Ferrous Metals
Lightly abrade to a bright (not polished) finish (excluding galvanised surfaces). Rinse thoroughly, remove all residues, and allow to dry.
Ferrous Metals
Remove rust and millscale back to clean metal. Eliminate all residues and prime all bare areas within the same working day.
Previously Painted Surfaces
Remove loose, failing, or suspect paint. Feather edges of sound paint and eliminate all dust and rust. Spot prime bare metal with Crown Trade Universal Metal Primer. Clean sound paint with hot water and detergent, rinsing frequently. Wet abrade to create a key, rinse, and allow to dry before applying the chosen paint system.
Application
Always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin. We recommend to test a small area before painting the entire surface to ensure compatibility
- Stir thoroughly before use.
- Apply 1 or 2 coats with a brush.
