Preparation

New Surfaces – Walls and Ceilings: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Apply a mist coat of Crown Trade Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Scrubbable Matt diluted with 20-40% water on porous surfaces. Use Crown Trade Covermatt Drywall Primer if clean water is unavailable. Patch fill areas after priming with the same mist coat. Prime powdery surfaces with Sandtex Water Based Stabilising Solution and dense surfaces with Crown Trade PX3 or PX4 Primer.

Previously Decorated Surfaces – Walls and Ceilings: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free of contaminants. Remove loose or failing paint, feather edges, and treat organic growth with Sandtex Fungicidal Solution. Fill holes and cracks with Sandtex Ready Mixed Filler, then patch prime bare or filled areas. Wash remaining paint with hot water and detergent, abrade glossy areas for a key, and rinse well. If staining occurs, patch prime with Crown Trade PX4 Primer.
