Preparation
- Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, dust, and any loose or flaking material. Use a mild cleaner or degreaser if necessary.
- While Coo-Var Shellac Prime-All typically provides a smooth surface that doesn't require sanding, lightly sanding glossy surfaces or rough areas can help improve adhesion for some topcoats.
- Allow the surface to dry completely before applying the primer.
Once the surface is properly prepared, you can proceed with applying Coo-Var Shellac Prime-All for optimal results.
Application
- Stir Well Before Use: Ensure the product is thoroughly mixed before application.
- Coo-Var Shellac Prime-All is suitable for use with both brush and roller. Apply a full, even coat with the minimum amount of brushwork to avoid leaving brush marks.
- If a second coat is needed, allow the first coat to dry for approximately 30 minutes before reapplying.
- For the best finish, avoid over-brushing during application to prevent uneven coverage or streaking.
- Allow 30 minutes before overcoating with your chosen topcoat.
Ensure proper ventilation during application and drying for optimal results.
