Tinted Colour Information

Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Armstead Trade tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order.

Preparation

Ensure all surfaces are sound, clean, dry, and free from any defective or poorly adhering material, dirt, grease, or salts.

Remove loose or flaking paint by scraping and sanding, then wipe clean.
New plaster and masonry must be fully dry before applying primer or paint. Apply a sealing coat of thinned Armstead Trade Vinyl Soft Sheen (up to 1 part clean water to 20 parts paint).
Take special precautions when preparing pre-1990s paint surfaces over wood or metal, as these may contain harmful lead. Always wear appropriate protective equipment and follow relevant safety guidance.

Application

As with all water-based paints, do not apply in temperatures below 8ºC, in accordance with British Standard BS 6150.

Stir thoroughly before use this will ensure a consistent colour.
On very absorbent surfaces, apply a sealing coat of thinned Armstead Trade Vinyl Soft Sheen.
Finishing: Apply 1 or 2 full coats of Armstead Trade Vinyl Soft Sheen for best results.
Sealing new or bare surfaces: Add up to 1 part clean water to 20 parts paint.
Normal use: Thinning is not required.
Airless spray application: Thinning is not required.
Spray Recommendations: For airless spray application, use a minimum working pressure of 140 kg/cm² (2000 lb/in²) with a spray tip size of 0.38 mm (15 thou) and a spray tip angle of 65°.
