Application
Ensure all wood surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust or contaminants.
- For bare wood, thin the first coat by diluting the oil 50% with white spirit to promote deep absorption.
- If you prefer a 100% plant-based application process, thin the first coat using Genuine Turpentine instead of white spirit.
- Allow the thinned oil to penetrate for 20–30 minutes, then wipe away any excess with a clean, lint-free cloth.
- Apply undiluted Pure Tung Oil for all following coats.
- Whether used indoors or outdoors, a total of 3-4 coats is recommended.
- Armourflex Pure Tung Oil contains no added drying agents. For best results, allow 1–3 days of drying time between coats, depending on temperature and ventilation.
- Tung Oil naturally cures to a low-sheen, natural finish.
- For a more refined, smooth surface, lightly buff the fully dried coat with very fine (000) grade wire wool.
Aftercare & Storage
Clean equipment with Barrettine White Spirit. Replace cap firmly. Store between 5-30°C, away from heat and flames. Immediately wash all soiled cloths with soapy water and dispose of safely outside the house.
